Keller, Texas, is an affluent suburb of Fort Worth. This community of approximately 40,000 residents was ranked seventh on Money Magazine's list of the "best cities to live in the United States" in 2009.
Keller was one of a series of villages that developed along the Texas and Pacific Railway line that was established between Fort Worth and Texarkana in 1881. The village was named after John C. Keller, a foreman on the railroad. H.W. Black, a Tarrant County druggist, set aside the 40-acres on which the town was originally platted.

The city of Keller maintains more than 300-acres of developed parkland at 11 park sites. It also maintains almost 20-miles of hiking and biking trails. There's an indoor track accompanied by two side-by-side basketball courts with hardwood floors.
The Parks at Town Center offers a variety of wide paths and sidewalks for hiking, biking, etc. The park is conveniently located near City Hall and just across the street from many dining and shopping options. Those strolling along the paths can enjoy a number of sculptures that are situated along them. A large pond adds to the beauty and the serenity of the area.
Attractions and Activities
The Sky Creek Ranch Golf Course in Keller is a beautiful tree-lined course designed by the famous golf architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. This par 72, 6953-yard championship test is situated atop the very highest point in all of Tarrant County. A bonus for golfers are the endless panoramic vistas that unfold during their rounds. Bermuda fairways wind among stately Texas oak trees. Big Bear Creek comes into play on all but two of the holes. There are also a variety of ponds that add to both the challenge and the beauty of this layout. In 2008, Golf Digest rated the layout "four stars."
Late September brings the annual KellerFest to the community. This two-day festival is sponsored by the Greater Keller Chamber Of Commerce. KellerFest is held at the Texas Motor Speedway and it includes everything from a petting zoo to carnival rides and more. Visitors enjoy live music, arts and crafts, and a wide variety of food and drink.
